UK fighter jets intercept Russian aircraft near Nato airspace

The UK’s Ministry of Protection (MoD) introduced on Sunday that Royal Air Power (RAF) fighter jets intercepted Russian plane flying near the airspace of Nato (North Atlantic Treaty Group).
Based on the ministry, RAF fighters intercepted the Russian plane as a part of the UK’s contribution to Nato’s enhanced air policing within the area.
The UK MoD mentioned in a press release, “Two RAF Typhoons had been scrambled from Malbork Air Base in Poland on Tuesday to intercept a Russian Ilyushin Il-20M ‘Coot-A’ intelligence plane over the Baltic Sea. While on Thursday, one other two Typhoons scrambled from the bottom, to intercept an unknown plane leaving Kaliningrad air house and near Nato airspace.”
It added, “The intercepts marked the RAF’s first scramble as a part of Operation Chessman and are available simply weeks after the plane arrived in jap Poland to start their deployment alongside Sweden in defence of Nato’s Japanese Flank.”
“Operation Chessman” is the UK’s involvement in Nato’s enhanced air policing.
